What should I do about mouth sores?

man with mouth sores in kingsport tnYou're Not Alone

Most people at some point in their life will experience a mouth sore. There are lots of different causes. The most common ones we see are due to a trauma, like burns from hot food, biting your soft tissue, or irritation from a dental appliance or broken dental work. We also frequently see patients with cold sores or canker sores. A good rule of thumb is that if you experience a mouth sore that doesn’t go away within 2 weeks, you should have it checked by your dentist because it could be a sign of an infection, disease, or disorder.

The good news for people who are frequent sufferers from canker sores or cold sores is that there are new medications that can make these irritating and sometimes embarrassing sores go away much quicker. We love to help people get relief from mouth sores, so call us if you have questions.
